16-Year-Old Newcomer Madi Makes Glitch-Pop Magic With L.A. Producer Felix Snow

Following in the footsteps of SZA and Kiiara.

Felix Snow hasn't released under his own name before, but if you're a regular FADER reader you've likely heard his glittering pop/R&B productions being used by the likes of Top Dawg Entertainment's first lady SZA and break-out Soundcloud sensation Kiiara. With "Slow," his choppy debut single, Snow recruits the vocal talents of relative unknown Madi for a tightly wound anthem about taking it slow that fizzes with big drops and pitch-shifted choruses. "Madi followed me on Twitter and we started to send some stuff back and forth," Snow explained to The FADER via email. "I've done this with a bunch of people to varying degrees of success—and [with Madi] it all sounded amazing. 'Slow' is the product of our first attempt. Madi is the truth. She's 16 and if she keeps it up will be a better producer than me at 25. She's already an Ableton wiz and, as you can hear, has this goddess voice."

"Slow" will be available to buy soon via Felix's own imprint EFFESS.
