It was a sweeter summer in New York City, but it's already time to put on hella layers and thick socks, to Netflix and chill, to stretch out under a thick blanket with a thicker book. When I first heard Just A Band's "Winning In Life," the first single from the Kenyan crew's upcoming fourth album, I bumped it way up on my soundtrack for a fall spent indoors. Featuring jazz trumpetist Owuor Arunga, the track is all fuzzy horns and soft keys, buoyed by a relaxing house groove. It's a love song, to be sure, but it also feels like broadly posi vibes. And when you hear the lyric, For once I feel like I'm winning in life, you'll feel it too.
