Wild Belle Dance Out Their Demons In “Giving Up On You”

The Chicago sibling duo recruit their hometowns best dance crews to help out.

Windy City siblings Natalie and Elliot Bergman—who perform an unholy blend of post-punk, bluesy rock, and psych-pop as Wild Belle—returned to their hometown and staged an epic 12 hour dance party for the video for "Giving Up On You," a Dave Sitek (of TV On the Radio) produced single off their forthcoming and as-yet to be titled sophomore album. Directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz, the ecstatic black-and-white clip features the band's friends, as well as some of the best and brightest from Chicago's Footwork and Voguing scenes, like the troupe The Era. And all together, they exorcise whatever it is that haunts them in the spirit of the song: "This song is a celebration of getting free," the group told The FADER. "Letting go of poisonous habits, and breaking the cycle of toxic love."
