In a recent interview with Vice, Grimes expressed her frustration with Canada's current Prime Minister/Conservative Party leader Stephen Harper. "Such a small group of people need to be motivated to get the Conservatives out for this election," Grimes explained. "In 2008, the Vancouver South riding was decided by 20 votes, for example. I'd love to motivate those 20 people to vote. I think if more young people in the public eye can start motivating our peers and fans we can make a real difference!"

Grimes plans to take action: "My mom and I are working to do some more outreach type things to get my peers involved, like giving away free concert tickets and stuff, trying to talk to kids about voting." "The last election was decided by fewer than 10,000 people," she added. "I play to more people than that all the time. I just want to do anything I can to get young people to vote."

Grimes is starting a tour at the end of the month—and supposedly releasing new music before that. Revisit her FADER cover story.
