Nashville Singer-Songwriter Vienna Debuts “What Are You Waiting For” Video

The 18-year-old granddaughter of Donna Summer wants you to know you’re “stronger than you think.”

Vienna is only 18 years old, but you'd never guess it. She's got an old soul, perhaps in part due to the influence of the young singer-songwriter's grandmother: disco legend Donna Summer. Having played all the local haunts in her hometown of Nashville, Vienna's getting ready to share her wistful take on pop with her new single "What Are You Waiting For," due out November 3rd from ReverbNation CONNECT's new singles series, The Watch List. But first up, here's the video for the soaring track.

"I think this song really can be relatable to a lot of people," Vienna told The FADER via e-mail. "We've all had someone in our lives, whether it's from a romantic relationship, or someone else, where they have a hold over us and we feel powerless and helpless. This song is a sort of wake up call, because when you're in it, it's hard to see that you could ever get out. It's a reminder that even when it's hard to see, you do have the power to stand up for yourself. I want to always encourage people that they are stronger then they think."
