Donovan Wolfington’s “Ollie North” Proves That You’re Never Too Old For Summer Camp

The NOLA skateboarding punks premiere a rowdy new video.

November 05, 2015

New Orleans rock band Donovan Wolfington are all kids at heart. Premiering today via Topshelf Records, their video for "Ollie North" is filled with flashing, lo-fi clips of the rowdy punks getting reckless to a soundtrack of slashing guitars and strident, jagged vocals. It seems like they're back at summer camp, as they return to familiar childhood activities like canoeing, fishing, and playing video games. But watching them sharing a spliff with their buds and getting drunk in the shower makes you rethink whether you'll ever be too old to go back to camp.

"This is what we did during our summer," singer/guitarist Neil Bertheir told The FADER over email. "The AC went off for a few days, and most days were over 100 degrees. We had some brain eating amoebas in the water, but it was chill. No one got hurt, we still had fun every day, so whatever. We didn't really have a plan for this video."
