Twindrums Project Announces Special Performance With Yoshimio And Ikue Mori

The Twindrums project announced today that it will bring together Yoshimio and Ikue Mori at Roulette in Brooklyn on Wednesday, December 9. Yoshimio is known for her work in a number of groups, including BOREDOMS, OOIOO, Free Kitten, and Saicobaba. She first connected with Mori in Osaka in the '80s.

Two drummer lineups are unusual, but don't be alarmed. The New York Times recently explained, "A band with two trap-set drummers can often do something that can’t be done with one... It enlarges the groove and in some strange way encourages the listener to tune deeply into the ongoing present. It’s almost never a bad idea, but it’s especially a good idea in music that contains some kind of tradition or old wisdom."
