Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def has joined the chorus of musicians responding to last night's attacks in Paris with a new song "NO Colonial Fiction." The rapper and activist also spoke with Ferrari Sheppard on A Country Called Earth about the attacks and a range of other topics, including Tamir Rice, a 12 year old boy who was shot and killed by a Cleveland police officer. His face is on the cover art for "NO Colonial Fiction."

Bey attempted to put the Paris attacks in a global perspective. "None of this stuff is separated. Everything from Tamir Rice to Paris shootings to what's happening to the students in the University of Missouri, to what I've been experiencing in the negative in South Africa. It's all connected. It's all the same thing."

He also slammed the group claiming responsibility for the attacks. "A big giant 'fuck off' to ISIS. You don't represent nothing about Islam or nothing about the Prophet." Listen below via Pitchfork.
