SAFE Showcases His Versatility On The Stay Down EP

The MC unveils his debut project.

November 27, 2015

The enigmatic rapper SAFE earned attention earlier this summer when he teamed up with the OVO-affiliated producer Eric Dingus on "Now." He returned today with a new EP, Stay Down. Dingus shows up again, providing the beat for the lusty "Back 2."

SAFE described the process behind the project in an email to FADER. "When I was writing and recording these songs I was influenced off the vibes I get from day to day," he explained. "That's why you will notice some songs are more fast paced and a lighter sound while others are more dark and at a smoother, slower pace. I also created the whole EP with the goal to show people how diverse my songs can be and to create a different vibe from every song... just know this is just the beginning of more music to come in the near future."

Find out more about SAFE here. The MC's debut performance is on Saturday, December 12 at Toronto's MOD club. Dingus will be supporting him; surprise guests are promised.
