Gatekeeper’s Aaron David Ross Announces New Album, Deceptionista

Berlin label PAN will be releasing it via an SD card and a new platform.

December 01, 2015

Aaron David Ross, one half of the N.Y.C. duo Gatekeeper, will release a new album under his ADR name on December 11. According to the press release, Deceptionista is a "conceptual album that acts as an immersive virtual ecosystem." It is built with "an online tool which feeds out real time video clip uploads from the social media platform, Vine." The goal? "[T]o accelerate detailed, high-definition visions of public intimacies into a form of 21st century psychedelia; which embraces the cognitive derangement of the senses that defines the habits of today's internet browsing constituency."

The album will arrive via an SD card, as well as a new distribution system: the Berlin label PAN and artist Harm van den Dorpel's platform Deli Near are working together to create "a new space for upcoming online artist collaborations." Deceptionista will be the first album released in this way, and will help launch PAN's redesigned site. Preview the album with these Vine clips below, and look for Deceptionista a week from Friday.
