Last night NBC aired The Wiz Live!, a live special of the Broadway musical, The Wiz. Common, Ne-Yo, and Queen Latifah all turned in great performances, but the night was stolen by a newcomer—Shanice Williams, an 18-year-old actress from New Jersey who landed the role of Dorothy in a nationwide search.

In the clip above, she performs the closing number "Home," a song that was made famous by Diana Ross and Stephanie Mills. (Whintey Houston's version of the song is nothing to scoff at either) But despite the song's impressive pedigree, Mills made it her own with subtle changes. She killed it.

To get a drop of how exciting her performance was, watch the short clip below that was shot right after she left the stage. Hopefully this won't be Mills' last show any time soon.
