According to Variety, Erykah Badu and Nas are both involved with The Land, a new film that will premiere at Sundance. The movie is written and directed by Steve Caple Jr., and Badu plays a role. Nas will serve as executive producer and oversee the soundtrack.
"(I'm a) huge fan of my man Steve Caple Jr. I think he can become the next great filmmaker," the MC said in a statement. "All great energy around the film, which I believe will yield amazing results."
Variety reports that The Land tells the story of four boys who try to make it big as professional skateboarders but have to work around a local drug dealer. Moises Arias, Rafi Gavron, Michael K. Williams, Kim Coates, Machine Gun Kelly, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., and Ezri Walker also act in the film.
