As it would be, Plastic Plates and Sia go way back. In addition to providing her a couch to crash on in Bondi in the early aughts, the producer has hooked her up with a couple of solid house flips over the years ("Cloud" and "Chandelier"), been on hand to record demos, and backed her during dozens of festival and television appearances. Thusly, he approached this remix of the enigmatic pop star's latest single "Alive"—which will be featured on an "Alive" remix compilation that is out tomorrow via Monkey Puzzle Records/RCA Records—as more than a producer, but also as a dear pal. "Given our musical history, reinterpreting Sia's vocals is effortless and pure joy for me," he told The FADER. "I'm so happy Sia is killing it these days and to top it all off, she's my friend!"
