Young Thug continues to give some of his most open interviews to French journalists. His latest conversation, which surfaced over the weekend, covered his path to stardom (“a lot of people helped me, but no one made me who I was”), his approach to fatherhood (“I think I’m too nice, I can’t be mean”), and the value of connecting with a non-English speaking audience (“it’s kind of hard to understand that a person who doesn’t speak your language listens to you”).

The rapper briefly touched on his various collaborative projects. “I’m bringing out a mixtape with the Migos, I’m bringing out a mixtape with Fetty Wap, I’m bringing out a mixtape with Post Malone.” “All of them are done,” he added. “It’s just like four songs left on one of them. But all of them are done. So there’s like 50 more songs.”

When asked to describe his hopes for the future, Thug didn’t hesitate: “Michael Jackson. Bigger than Michael.” He sees other rappers though the Jackson lens as well, describing André 3000 as “a legend, a real legend. That’s like Michael Jackson, boy. That nigga did a tour and he packed every place out.”
