Allan Kingdom's latest mixtape Northern Lights, perhaps named for the natural phenomenon that blesses his birthplace of Winnipeg, is a running start to 2016 from one of the previous year's most promising upstarts. He rose from Minnesota an artist with a new and unusual voice that didn't quite fit in, and grinded to a feature on Kanye West's “All Day” and a lot of work with Plain Pat, Kanye's former manager.
