“A story of hazy times spent living amongst chihuahuas and tumbleweeds in a small West Texas village.”

Mirror Travel's Lauren Green and Tiffanie Lanmon met over a decade ago back in 2003 in one of Texas' small towns, and they've been the base of the garage slash post-punk band ever since. Their newest member, bassist Meredith Stoner, joins Green and Lanmon on Cruise Deal, their upcoming album, out March 11 on Modern Outsider. Cruise Deal was recorded in a makeshift storage unit studio in Austin, but it feels like it was swept into my ears by a desert storm.

Premiering today is "Yesca," the rich and dusky lead single off Cruise Deal, which guitarist and vocalist Lauren Green told The FADER in an email is "A story of hazy times spent living amongst chihuahuas and tumbleweeds in a small West Texas village. The hypnotic drone of 'Yesca' follows sun bleached locals on their quest to find swimming holes and themselves—but mostly booze and weed."
