Jean Deaux Shares Existential New Single, “Father Time”

“It’s actually a metaphor for life and death, and how I’ve used my intuition to guide me during the time in between.”

Jean Deaux has gifted us with a new song called "Father Time." The first single off inaugural compilation from Downtown Records imprint Downtown Singles Club, the track is a wash of soft house-like vibes and deep thoughts.

While it is true that Deaux has only met her father twice, as she sings, the song's true meaning is much more existential than that. As Deaux explained in a note to The FADER, "most would think this is a song about meeting my biological father two times in my life, which is true. But it's actually a metaphor for life and death, and how I've used my intuition to guide me during the time in between."
