Macklemore & Ryan Lewis released the first single from their new album last summer. That track, "Downtown," featured oldschool rap royalty like Melle Mel and Kool Moe Dee, and a similar collaborative spirit appears to drive the duo's approach on the rest of This Unruly Mess I've Made, which includes a large number of guests. Macklemore recruited New York legends (DJ Premier, KRS-One), creators of next gen G-funk (YG), rising stars (Chance the Rapper), top 40 balladeers (Ed Sheeran), soul revivalists (Leon Bridges), famous actors (Idris Elba), and the Mexican singer Carla Morrison to appear on the new record.
