Fresh off welcoming a post-Grammys Justin Bieber into his vehicle, James Corden hosted Sia for last night's installment of Carpool Karaoke. After opening with a rendition of "Chandelier," the pair discussed Sia's omnipresent black and white wig, with Sia explaining that her decision to present herself this way is motivated by her pre-fame experiences with substance abuse.

"I was a singer for 10 or 11 years to mediocre success, and I was an alcoholic and a drug addict," Sia tells Corden. "I sobered up and decided I didn't want to be an artist anymore because I was starting to get a little bit famous and it was destabilizing in some way. So I thought, 'What doesn't exist in pop music at the moment?' And it was mystery. There's pictures on Instagram of everyone at the dentist."

Later, they also cover Sia's polarising singing style and her belief in alien lifeforms, as well as belting out a selection of hits including "Elastic Heart" and "Diamonds." Corden dons a Sia wig of his own before concluding with a finale of "Titanium." Watch the whole journey above.
