The film studio A24 launched a new rock-centric radio show today hosted by Tony Rettman. This is familiar territory for Rettman: last year, he published an acclaimed rock chronicle, NYHC: New York Hardcore 1980 – 1990.

According to a press release, Green Room Radio combines “intimate interviews, anecdotes, and a rotating playlist of hardcore punk” in an effort to “cover the good, the bad, and the crazy moments of this subculture.” The debut episode includes an interview with Ted Leo, who fronts Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. The singer/songwriter discusses “terrible gigs, his entrance into the hardcore scene, and a new album.”

The radio show serves to whet fans’ appetites for the forthcoming movie Green Room, a crime horror-thriller featuring Patrick Stewart, Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, and Alia Shawkat.

The first episode is already available; listen below. Subsequent episodes will stream live every Wednesday at 12 p.m. EST here.
