Hear Illangelo’s Crystalline Reconstruction Of “Your Future Is Not Mine”

“This song is an anthem for the creators, the hungry ones that never give up and know that with enough trust and belief in yourself, anything is possible.”

Frequent Weeknd cohort Illangelo has refashioned singer Daisy Hamel-Buffas's slow "Your Future Is Not Mine" (which you may recognize from it's placement in a recent adidas spot) as a crystalline, determined march.

Featuring additional vocals from Joseph of Mercury, Illangelo's remix was inspired by the more tenuous start of his career. "In my early days of producing, I was surrounded by very positive friends and family but there were also the negative and doubtful, I stayed focus and grounded, and never let anything bring me down," Illangelo told The FADER. "I am grateful I pursued the path that felt right, following this love of mine. This song is an anthem for the creators, the hungry ones that never give up and know that with enough trust and belief in yourself, anything is possible."
