Gonzo Jones Debuts “Misty Dreams,” His Unearthly First-Ever Single

On the track, the Melbourne dream-pop songwriter floats on a zephyr.

Melbourne-based artist Gonzo Jones crafts dream pop in the quiet recesses of the studio in which he records, mixes, and masters his own songs. After months of independent work, he's sharing the title track from Misty Dreams, his debut EP. Rife with slacker guitar tones redolent of Mac Demarco, the song—and Jones' echoing vocals—gently coax you into an enchanted stupor. Baby, where do you dream? he sings.

"There is a thin line between desire and obsession," he told The FADER in an email. "'Misty Dreams' [premiering below] plays across both fronts. When being close to someone just isn't enough, wanting them so badly that you would chase them into their dreams..." The full EP will be out later this year via Good Manners.
