Naomi Campbell Stars In ANOHNI’s “Drone Bomb Me” Video

“It’s an indictment of America’s drone campaign in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and so forth.”

Annie Mac’s “Hottest Record” today was a new release from ANOHNI titled “Drone Bomb Me.” “The song is a love song from the perspective of a girl in Afghanistan,” the singer told Annie. “A nine year-old girl whose family has been killed by a drone bomb, and she is kind of looking up at the sky, and she’s gotten herself to a place where she just wants to killed by a drone bomb too. It’s quite sad. And that sometimes, especially when you’re a kid, is what you do when you’ve been a victim of something terrible. You find a way to make sense of it… that’s the impetus for the lyrics. Obviously it’s quite confrontational, and it’s an indictment of America’s drone campaign in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and so forth.”
