Noname Gypsy Changes Her “Racially Inappropriate” Name

She dropped the “Gypsy.”

The Chicago rapper formerly known as Noname Gypsy has officially dropped the latter portion of her moniker and will now be going by Noname.

In a series of tweets, Noname, who was featured on Chance the Rapper’s Surf project, explained she will no longer use “Gypsy” because the term is racially offensive to Romani people.

I wanted to wait until my website domain name was changed but it is important for me to say this. I am no longer using gypsy in my name.
