Wisconsin’s Tenement Get Down On “Freak Cast In Iron”

“One brief snapshot in the sprawling, abstruse scrapbook that Bruised Music Volume Two is" (out April 8 on Grave Mistake Records).

March 21, 2016

Tenement, Appleton, Wisconsin's coolest punk outfit, has an upcoming LP, Bruised Music Vol. 2 which is their second collection of odds and ends tracks. The album, which follows up last year's Predatory Headlights, is out April 8th on Grave Mistake Records. Today the band is sharing the speedy pop punk gem, "Freak Cast In Iron."

"'Freak Cast In Iron' was a rushed affair; a track penned by our bassist Jesse Ponkamo and committed to tape in an evening," singer and guitarist Amos Pitsch told The FADER. "From what I understand, it's an image of the uncertainty of his future and an analogy to his life's passion: black and white photography. That's what I've gotten from it, at least. Really, it's one brief snapshot in the sprawling, abstruse scrapbook that Bruised Music Volume Two is; a tangled and thorny path toward what Tenement is creating in the present and what we're crafting for our future.”
