Charlotte, N.C.-based trio Faye are releasing their debut self-titled EP of five fuzzy, melodic rock songs on May 13 via Tiny Engines. The band's very first single is "Chow Chow," a tongue-in-cheek track about feeling disenchanted with your local scene—sometimes going to a show can expose its superficiality or blasé aura. Let's take a cigarette break/ Pretend we really know what we are doing here, Faye's Susan Plante sings on the song's chorus. Sound familiar to all you indie rock scene heads?

"So, like, you know when you go to a local show to engage with and support your music-loving community?" Plante explained to The FADER in an email. "And sometimes you just feel a little jaded and frustrated with the disinterest in your scene? And then you write a snarky song about it? Oh yeah, me neither."
