French Montana's recent mixtape Wave Gods opens on a profound note: with words from the project's namesake Max B, a shout out to the late-Coke Boy Chinx, and an angelic vocal cameo by Chris Brown. "It has a special vibe to it," French told The FADER. "It’s deep. I think it means a lot to all the fans who understand the wave and that’s why it’s special."

The accompanying music video, which premieres today on The FADER, is also loaded with meaning. Directed by Spiff TV, it was shot by Michael Patti in Dubai, where French was awed by the scenery and found himself having kind of a moment. "As soon as we started shooting we heard the call to prayer and it felt good because everything I’m talking about in the song is personal and emotional to me and it meant a lot to be able have that moment," he recalled.
