"I've always felt a strong connection between grandiosity and depression," Yuri Beats told The FADER in an email. "I think those two feeling states have a very close relationship. I'm always drawn to songs that have the guts to take on the big questions that surround those issues."
In his view, Father John Misty's "Holy Shit" and Drake's "Legend" fit this description, so he decided to meld the two. "They both offer hope," he explained. "I wanted to help these incredible songs meet somewhere in the middle and shake hands."
Views From The 6 arrives tomorrow, and Yuri Beats is excited about the prospect of a new release. "Drake is constantly evolving and taking his art to new and exciting places," he noted. "It feels like a tremendous gift to be able to follow him on that journey."
