With his breakout single "Panda" currently sitting pretty at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, thanks in no small part to a Kanye West cosign, Brooklyn rapper Desiigner is under more pressure than ever to prove that he's not just a one hit wonder.
And there's no better way to prove your rapping prowess than through the art of freestyle. That's exactly what the soon-to-be-19-year-old rapper did when he dropped by the London studio of Tim Westwood to discuss his newfound fame and spit a few high octane verses.
"I definitely seen it coming," Desiigner tells Westwood of "Panda"'s success. "I'm not even being conceited. It's about being humble and knowing your worth."
For his part, Westwood expresses disbelief that the beat for "Panda" was created by "U.K. cat" and producer Menace and sold to Desiigner after a collaborator happened to come across the track on Soundcloud.
"It's a blessing," says Desiigner. "We put the art together."
