Drake Is Reportedly Shooting The “One Dance” Video In South Africa

Popcaan is with him and so are dance crew Material Culture.

Despite "One Dance" being one of the biggest songs of the summer, it hasn't yet got an official video. That could soon change though with news from South Africa suggesting that Drake is in the country shooting visuals for the track.

Confirmed details are sketchy right now but Drake has been posting pictures from his trip on Instagram, including one of him "talking to the yout dem in Joburg." Here's what we know so far.

Drake has been spending time in Soweto.

Okay Africa reports that while in South Africa, Drake spent time in the township of Soweto where he and director Anthony Mandler shot the "One Dance" video. Fans have been posting pictures from the set:

Kyla flew out to South Africa last weekend.

Kyla, whose vocals are sampled on the "One Dance" hook, took a flight on South African airlines on June 25.

Material Culture were on the reported shoot.

Drake put a picture of Material Culture, a dance crew who compete in the izikhothane scene in Soweto, on his Instagram overnight.

Popcaan is on the trip with Drake.

Another cameo could come from Popcaan who was seen on a trip to a Johannesburg restaurant with Drake and his crew on June 27.

It appears that Apple Music may be involved.

Apple's head of original music content Larry Jackson was also in Soweto.

But Drake also took time to give back to the community.

While he was in the country, Drake also visited Johannesburg's Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory to speak with local students on June 27. Footage from that talk can be seen below.
