"This album is almost like my graduation into taking this serious, full time," Booggz said of his Tha Candidate EP. The release includes the trap anthem "Cabin," premiering today on The FADER. The Scarborough rapper's flow is one of his biggest assets: quavering and unmistakably young, it adds a unique dimension to the grim tales he spits over a beat of pulsing rave-synths and heavy 808s.

"Ever since I started focusing on music my life has found a new purpose," Booggz said in an email to The FADER. "Growing up in Malvern [a neighborhood in Scarborough], it's easy to get compliant and fall in the wrong path. I've seen it happen plenty of times."
