minimal violence seem like a perfect fit for 1080p — the Vancouver-based label will release the duo's Night Gym EP in October, and the single "Houses" is a spacious throwback of house and techno tropes that simmers with warm melodies like post-Quarantine Laurel Halo.

"With 'Houses' we wanted to create something that embodied chaos," minimal violence wrote to The FADER over email, "polyrhythmic drums juxtaposed against the sedated vocal sample combining to build a rising sense of anxiety. We recorded the percussion on the 505 and 707 in a single pass to keep the overall flow instinctual and a bit disorganized while leaving the rest of the track pretty minimal in its composition. "
