BRUJAS’s 1971 Collection Will Benefit Those Impacted By The Prison-Industrial Complex

The NYC skate collective’s limited edition line is inspired by “prison rebels, deviants, and the brujas of the past, present and future.”

On Thursday, Bronx-based, all-woman skate crew BRUJAS announced the launch of a limited edition streetwear collection entitled 1971, named for the year of the Attica prison riot. On their Kickstarter page for the collection, the group writes, "The line is for all those who refuse to be governed by systems of exploitation and control." The two-piece collection, which features a T-Shirt and a pair of shorts, was designed by CZARQUAN of Nocturnal Sons Posse and Robin Giordani of The Corner Society. "All the profits from 1971 will go towards materially supporting people facing time in the prison system," BRUJAS writes.
