Drake And The Weeknd Among The MTV EMA winners

Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Zara Larsson also won at the 2016 ceremony while Beyoncé missed out.

Drake and The Weeknd were both named among the winners at the MTV EMAs in Rotterdam, Netherlands last night. The November 6 ceremony was hosted by singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha and saw Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber leave as the big winners, with Bieber collecting three awards. Gaga picked up two EMAs for Best Female and Best Look. Beyoncé, nominated in five categories, did not win anything.

Best Hip-Hop went to Drake, who was not at the ceremony, while The Weeknd was on hand to collect Best Video for "Starboy." He also performed the song live during the ceremony. Other winners on the night included Zara Larsson, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots, Green Day, Martin Garrix, and DNCE. The awards themselves were decorated in purple, a tribute to the late Prince.
