Tomorrow, Toronto singer 11:11 will release a four-song EP called 11/11. It's a concise collection of haughty R&B that situates the singer firmly within Toronto's rising ranks of new soul vocalists. "Lockdown" is an EP highlight, and it's premiering today on The FADER. A gentle piano line and echoing finger snaps create gentle ripples through the track, building to a wave when the tempo picks up near the song's end.
"The name of the song 'Lockdown' says it all," 11:11 wrote in an email to The FADER. "Don't wait too long to lock that special someone down with your love, before someone with the right intentions comes along and does it before you do." Listen below, and look out for the full release tomorrow.
