French producer Greg Kozo’s “One Day” has received an upbeat renewal thanks to a future disco remix from Montreal producer, Fonkynson. Known for his brand of light and playful disco house music, Fonkynson released a debut album, #followme, in July. Kozo who is from Paris, put out the You EP earlier this year.

“One Day” features Jersey singer Bitter’s Kiss, whose voice initially charmed Fonkynson when he was approached to do the remix. His edit strips back Kozo’s original deep house vibe; melodic kick drums and delayed synth add new rhythmic layers. The remix quickly builds to a bubble of glimmery percussion, high pitched organ tones, and disco-influenced piano.

“I should have gone to bed, but you never know when inspiration will kick,” said Fonkyson in an email to The FADER. “The lush vocals with the first rays of light created an atmosphere too inspiring to stop. By the beautiful fall morning, the ‘One Day’ remix was finished.”
