Thoughtful R&B singer Courtnie believes a cosmic connection is worth a chance on her new song "Try." Falling for a person can be scary, but Courtnie's spirited vocals affirm how exhilarating opening up can be. She doesn't pressure her muse to give her the world right away, all she's asking is for is an honest effort. She sings, "I don't care if you ain't never done this with nobody before/ Are you really alive if you don't take the time baby to explore?"

"With 'Try', I wanted to capture that feeling of vulnerability that comes with that first time you make the decision to expose yourself to somebody fully," Courtnie explained to The FADER over email. "It's terrifying, carnal, and freeing at the same time, and not just physically. It's a song about liberation! One of my favorite things to talk about."
