Angel Olsen is the latest guest on the always interesting Song Explorer podcast. In this week's episode she breaks down "Shut Up Kiss Me," the single from her 2016 album My Woman. Speaking about the song's lyrics, Olsen says her words are "kind of tongue in cheek and mean, but also like, 'Hey, I care about you.'

She goes on to explain that the fuzzy rock song began it's life "more '50s and relaxed," while a demo version of the song is played. Olsen also talks about rehearsing the song with her band for so long that she injured her arm and had to record it wearing a brace.
