The Beatles’ First Manager Passes Away At The Age Of 86

According to the Liverpool Echo, Allan Williams, the former owner of a coffee bar in Liverpool who discovered the Beatles during the band's infancy, has passed away at 86. In his memoir, The Man Who Gave the Beatles Away, Williams recounts driving the young upstarts to Hamburg to hone their skills. According to the Echo, "in May this year Allan was awarded with a top civic honour in recognition of his contribution to the music industry in Liverpool.”
