Treasured Malian singer Oumou Sangaré has returned to champion resilience on "Yere Faga," a colorfully invigorating new song that features legendary Afrobeats drummer Tony Allen. Since 1990, upon the release of her full-length debut Moussolou, she's reigned as one of West Africa's most outspoken artists, advocating around women's rights. Here, Sangaré's potent voice coats the uptempo track as she encourages listeners to stand strong against life's obstacles.

"You know, success is heavy. Success is difficult. For me, it’s been almost thirty years since I first tasted success. So I’ve seen plenty of things. I’ve lived," she told The FADER over email. "I wrote this song for everyone and to say that in life you have to be strong. Everybody will encounter a problem one day or another, but you have to be stronger than the problem so you can go beyond it.”
