ScHoolboy Q sat down to chat with Zane Lowe earlier tonight on Beats 1, and took the opportunity to catch fans up on the Blank Face follow-up he promised back in December.

“I’m halfway done with it already," Q told Lowe, "I've never been this inspired that fast.” The record's predecessor, Blank Face dropped in July, and Q explained that the album breaks his typical pattern of dropping projects at two-year intervals.

During the interview, he said he's also been in the studio working on “a bunch more new records” with Anderson .Paak, who he traded features with on Malibu's "Am I Wrong" and the title track from Blank Face.

Over the course of a 15-minute conversation, ScHoolboy also chatted with Zane about how fatherhood is shaping his new music, his progression from Habits & Contradictions, and The Grammys' historical bias against gangsta rap. Listen below.
