Tashaki Miyaki is a semi-mysterious rock duo out of L.A. making shoegaze pop songs that, according to the band, have much in common with the world of cinema. So it makes sense that their live shows include video elements, like this gorgeous, pastel-tinted short film-slash-music video for their new single "City," off Tashaki Miyaki's debut album The Dream (out April 7 on Metropolis Records).

Over email, the video's director Kelsey McNamee told The FADER, "For me, the song brought to mind the image of a woman who feels disconnected, someone who floats through spaces and life. A drifter in a sprawling city. I was inspired by the portrayal of a lonely woman in Barbara Loden's film Wanda and the dynamic in Paper Moon, as well as Los Angeles and the way it can make you feel isolated." Watch above.
