The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. at the hip-hop club on the city's east end killing one person and leaving 14 victims, according to the Cincinnati police's twitter account. Police report there was only one shooter, who is still at-large, and a manhunt is underway for his or her arrest.
Extra security was called to the DJ booth just before shots rang out, noted WLWT5. Many of the victims were taken to local hospitals, several with life-threatening injuries.
Cincinnati's Assistant Police Chief Paul Neudigate called the shooting a "chaotic crime scene," adding that hundreds of party-goers were inside the nightclub at the time of the incident. Many of the witnesses fled for their safety but those that remained are be interviewed by police, said Neudigate.
"Motives remain unclear but there are no indications this incident is terrorism related," said Neudigate in a tweet.
