Several videos posted to Instagram last night, as well as a TMZ report show that Chief Keef was arrested on Saturday in Miami Beach. He was apparently released later in the day, according to different Instagram videos, which shows him and others outside of the police station. We reached out to representatives for comment.
"Chief Keef is one of the most vital and authentic voices representing African American youth today," wrote Alki David, CEO of FilmOn TV and Hologram USA to The FADER. "As such he is particularly vulnerable to police actions that seek to silence him. FilmOn TV and Hologram USA are proud of our renewed creative collaborations with Sosa and support him 100%."
We will update this story as we learn more.
Update at 5:30 p.m. on 4/09: According to TMZ and a Miami Beach Police Report, Chief Keef has been charged with a felony DUI after failing to pass a sobriety test. A representative for Chief Keef did not immediately return a request for comment.
