You can practically smell the shisha wafting from every frame of "Info-Red," the new music video from Siimba Liives Long, premiering today on The FADER. The Ethiopia-raised, NYC-based rapper holds court in a rose-tinted room filled with at least as many hookahs as there are girls. But it's not all easy listening: Siimba confronts bittersweet memories within the song's plush soul, revealing his own desire for real connection in the process: "Feed me your secrets and promises / I need both those for my confidence," he raps.
Over email, Siimba Liives Long told The FADER "Info-Red" will be a part of his Zemenay's Gemiinii project. "This specific song is basically capturing an encounter with a person who brought a positive energy in my life at a time when I was involved in a lot of negativity. It means a lot to me, because anyone who has been involved in things such as hustling or violence always has a person who tries to be a positive influence on them. Even if we don't always listen, we do remember their words, and typically they hold a place in our minds/hearts."
