French Montana announced today that he is partnering with Global Citizen, furthering the rapper's recent philanthropic endeavors. Since March, Montana has been advocating for maternal and children's healthcare following a trip to Kampala, Uganda to shoot the video for "Unforgettable."

On Monday, Newsweek reported on the partnership between Montana and Global Citizen, an international advocacy group that works to bring aid to those affected by poverty. Montana is putting his voice behind Global Citizen's #2BSTRONG campaign, which urges leaders in the African Union to make maternal and child health care a top priority.

A petition posted to Global Citizen's website reminds leaders of the dire situation many mothers and children find themselves in due to a lack of healthcare. "One in five children in Africa do not have access to routine immunizations. And every day, over 800 women die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth," it reads.

In addition to partnering with Global Citizen, Montana has committed to building a maternity center in Uganda, after already having donated $100,000 to the Suubi Health Center in Budondo, Uganda.
