According to a report by Billboard, Pemberton Music Festival, which was supposed to take place from July 13-16, has been canceled. A press release from the organizers, Huka Entertainment clarifies that the company itself is not in bankrupt, just the festival, and was not involved with the decision to cancel the event.

The cancellation is perhaps most sad for the ticket holders who were already planning on attending the festival. The Pemberton website, which used to host information about the festival that promised to be "the best weekend of your life," now has one letter posted.

"Unfortunately there are no automatic refunds from [Pemberton Music Festival]," reads the letter posted. "As PMF is now in bankruptcy, it has no ability to provide refunds for tickets purchased. However ticket holders may file a proof of claim form as an unsecured creditor with [Ernst & Young Inc.] in accordance with the claims process."

Essentially, the ticket holder files a separate claim with the trustee of the bankrupted music festival if they bought the ticket directly from the festival, and that process could be complicated, "as each bank and credit card issuer have their own specific policies."

Ticketfly, which ticketed the event, released the following statement on their Facebook page:

"We were informed today by bankruptcy trustee Ernst & Young that, as part of Pemberton Music Festival's bankruptcy filing in Canada, a stay was put in place freezing all funds for this event. Ernst & Young will provide a proof of claims form for ticket refund requests in the near future at their website http://www.ey.com/ca/pmf.

We will continue to provide updates on this situation as more details are made available."

The festival, which featured Chance The Rapper, A Tribe Called Quest, Muse, Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, and more, cost $369 USD for a for day general pass, and The Seattle Times reported that some people who were planning on attending paid $500 for their tickets.
