Michael Brown’s Sister And Mother Graduated High School Together

Lezley McSpadden, the mother of Michael Brown, the teenager who was killed by the police in August 2014, walked the stage of Jennings Senior High School to receive her diploma. She graduated alongside her daughter Daysa Brown, who will go on to The Tennessee State University.

McSpadden left high school as a teen mother nearly 21 years ago, when she gave birth to her late son Michael Brown. McSpadden's lawyer, Benjamin Crump, told the St. Louis Dispatch that the occasion was meaningful for the family, and that McSpadden “has a purpose now to try to uphold the legacy of her son.”
