Chance The Rapper has apologized to Dr. Dre and his imprint Aftermath Entertainment "for publicly disrespecting their hard work and contributions to music."

In a series of tweets, Chance discussed his problematic visuals for the Be Encouraged tour. Its "LED content" was intended to mock major labels, but also jabbed imprints like Aftermath. "I made the mistake of including Imprints which not only dulled my overall point of trying to uplift artist[s]... But also singled out artist-owned ventures that have only worked to progress the culture," he wrote.

Chance wrapped up his open letter by calling Dre "a premier example of creating space for wealth and ownership in an industry designed for creatives to be the foot soldiers." He also apologized to Aftermath "and all the other folk trying to make a difference in music that I belittled."
