Feel The Heat of Portuguese Dancefloors On Nidia’s Kuduro-Inspired New Track

“I Miss My Ghetto” is taken from her debut album Nídia é Má, Nídia é Fudida.

Nidia (FKA Nidia Minaj) is a 20-year-old Portuguese producer living in France, who produces thumping Afro-electronic beats when she's not studying. On her brand new album Nídia é Má, Nídia é Fudida, each track is a short, sharp punch of steamy kuduro. "I Miss My Ghetto," premiering below, particularly evokes the sparse tension of Portuguese bairros with its piano stabs and urgent surge of percussion. “'I Miss My Ghetto' was simply made for my bairro, Vale da Amoreira, where I was born and where I lived in my childhood," Nidia explained in an email to The FADER. "[It was] the ‘entity’ that saw me through all my early steps to get me where I am today." Principe will release Nídia é Má, Nídia é Fudida on June 30. Listen to "I Miss My Ghetto" below, and revisit Nidia's FADER Mix here.
